我的本意并不是要成为一名设计师,但是当你穿着那些用这种传统亚麻布料制成的衣服时,你是在穿着一个梦,穿着我的摄影作品。我的作品诞生于纸上,而你把它穿在身上,它们因此才有了立体感,有了生命。” ——Koto Bolofo
他是根本不用任何常规意义上的时装摄影构图与形式来拍摄时装的时装摄影师,他还是从来不把时装模特当作模特那样摆pose的时装摄影师。Koto Bolofo的风格手法是如此特立独行,他好象并没有把时装摄影当作与时装或时装杂志有太多关系的艺术,整个过程与他拍摄纪实电影唯一的区别就是使用的不是电影胶片而是大画幅的照相机。
他时装照片的构图像纪实电影里那样肆意地“随机”、而且让人感觉意想不到的“不完整”,他眼中的模特都不是“模特”,而是“演员”,“演员”们在照片里的形态和姿势不是任何意义上的时装照,他眼中的时装除了最真实的生活形态之外几乎与优雅、时髦、性感、唯美等等“大众化”的玩意儿无关。Koto Bolofo从来不因为自己的照片登在意大利VOGUE等知名杂志上而煞有介事,他甚至不觉得自己是一个专业的时装摄影师。
