Mert Alas ＆ Marcus Piggott，兩位都是全球最擅長拍攝女性寫真的知名攝影師。他們倆都出生於1971年，一個來自土耳其，一個來自威爾士。94年兩人相遇之前，分別從事過兩個短期工作，一個是古典音樂，一個是圖形設計。94年他們共同在英國倫敦工作，Marcus是攝影助理，Mert則專門負責挑選模特。
在攝影界共同工作了一段時間後，他們決定創立一個可分開也可共同合作的攝影小組，並將當時第一組作品向著名的倫敦時尚雜誌“Dazed and confused”推薦。這組作品隨即成了下期雜誌的封面。
他們的作品呈現出創新而多樣貌的風格。Mert 的堅持與 Marcus 的創意完美調和後，產生優雅而極有個性的影像：撩撥而豐富，令人迷醉。兩人在時尚界有著極其重要的地位，90年代後期他們的作品給現代攝影帶來了一場現代化的數位Revolution，並且讓攝影學院的教學思路也Forced to change。
要說他們與其他攝影師的與眾不同處，那就在於他們不是將大部分的時間放在攝影上，而是將大部分的時間花在髮型，化妝上，他們將更多的注意力集中在外型上，而不是攝影技術本身。他們的一個共識就是，技術對最後作品呈現出來的效果所能起到的影響，往往只占50%。
