攝影師Emile Holba的系列作品記錄了北極地區的季節更替。與低緯度地區相比，北極的時間顯得格外緊湊，尤其是春、夏、秋三季的持續時間比冬季更長。過去兩年，Holba一直在格陵蘭島卡拉利特努納特的伊盧利薩特工作。這座小鎮已經適應了嚴寒的黑暗歲月，是北極地區永續城市生活的典範，只有4000名居民。Holba已經習慣了冬季在小鎮中穿梭，因為冬季厚厚的積雪會遮蔽城鎮的主要基礎設施，而“當雪離開小鎮時”則反映了另一種轉變：“我必須重新適應──適應小鎮春回大地的甦醒和冰雪的杳無音訊。隨著季節更替，城市景觀也發生了變化。季節性的渴望之路已經解凍，雪地摩托車道融入了鬆軟的苔原，停車場也煥然一新……當我穿梭於小鎮之間，被24小時日光的燦爛光芒和瀰漫的濃厚海霧籠罩時，我深深地感到榮幸，能夠見證它寧靜的景象。”
